Doctor Biography

Dr. Mohammad Ibn Abdul Malek Associate Professor, completed his MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his FCPS in Ophthalmology, following which he completed a vitreo-retina fellowship at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Education-He subsequently went for a fellowship in Uveitis from the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary & Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital, New York, USA. In addition, he has also completed the FICO (Fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology) and the FRCS in Ophthalmology of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Experiences- Practicing Phaco surgery / Cataract -more than 15 years and did thousands of Phaco surgeries. Practicing Glaucoma -more than 13 years and did thousands of glaucoma surgeries. Practicing General Ophthalmology-more than 16 years. Works/Jobs- He is currently working as Associate Professor and Consultant, Vitreo-Retina and Uvea at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital & Consultant of Bangladesh Eye Hospital. In addition to the clinic and theater duties, he is actively involved in teaching upcoming students of ophthalmology at the institute, as well as mentoring fellows in the Vitreo-Retina department. He is actively involved in research and hopes to contribute to elevating the level of research coming out of Bangladesh. He started Hikmah Eye Hospital (Now Hikmah Eye Hospital Ltd.) at Khilgaon, Dhaka.
