Doctor Biography

Dr. Sohel Mahmud is working as a Junior Consultant in the department of Retina of IIEI&H. He has completed his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College & Hospital under Rajshahi University in 2007. He obtained his DO (Ophthalmology) degree in 2014 from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and MCPS degree in 2020 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). Although his student life, he had a brilliant educational career. He is an ex-Notredamian. Prior to Joining as a Consultant he also worked as a Medical Officer at IIEI&H.

After completion of his post-graduation he completed two long-term fellowship, one in Cataract Surgery from Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital and Orbis International, other in Vitreo- Retina from Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital. He also completed short-term training in Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) from LV Prashad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. He has extensive surgical experience in Retina and Cataract surgeries and ROP services.

Dr. Sohel Mahmud actively participated in several presentations and also attended in hands-on training, workshops, and conferences dealing with various aspects of Ophthalmology in the country and abroad. He has a number of publications in national journals to his credit. He has earned his expertise in Ophthalmology through his sincere efforts, academic activities an honest devotion to service. He is very much committed to providing competitive, comprehensive, and dedicated care. .
